Bearings for MRO and bearing distributors

A distributor lives on range, availability and a clean shelf. This program covers long designation lists, mixed-SKU consolidation, replenishment cycles and private label packaging. Send your list through the quote form to begin.

The distributor problem: range without dead stock

A bearing distributor may list several hundred designations while turning over only a few dozen of them quickly. The challenge is to carry enough range that a customer finds the part, without tying cash in boxes that sit for years. The desk helps by consolidating many small quantities across several partner plants into one purchase and one shipment, so that a long list does not mean a long list of separate minimums.

The usual starting point is a spreadsheet of designations with suffixes and rough annual quantities. The desk sorts it into fast movers, steady movers and slow movers, because each group is bought differently: fast movers in larger repeat lots, slow movers in the smallest quantity a plant will pack.

Fast-moving sizes

A handful of families account for a large share of workshop demand. They are standard designations under ISO 15, available from many plants, and therefore easy to hold in stock and replenish.

Sizes can be checked in the size chart. Suffixes matter: a 6204 open, ZZ and 2RS are three different stock items, and the distributor should decide which ones to carry. See 2RS vs ZZ for how workshops choose.

Replenishment and mixed-SKU consolidation

Replenishment works best on a calendar. The desk agrees a cycle with you, for example every two or three months, and plans each order as a mixed list: fast movers in full quantities, steady movers in medium quantities, slow movers topped up to a minimum shelf level. Because the partner plants differ by family, the desk groups designations by plant, collects the goods at a consolidation point and ships them together, with a packing list that is organised by designation so that receiving is quick.

Typical reference ranges: 100-500 pieces per standard designation, stock sizes ready in 7-15 working days, and sea freight of 15-25 days to the US west coast or 30-45 days to Europe. Air freight takes 5-10 days when a gap in the shelf is urgent. All are confirmed in writing for each program; see logistics and shipping.

Private label marking and boxes

Many distributors sell under their own name. Laser marking on the ring face, printed boxes, inner sleeves and carton labels can be arranged, and the artwork is approved on a sample before the lot is made. Starting quantities for private label are typically around 1,000-5,000 pieces per designation, because the marking and boxes are set up per item. Where volume per designation is lower, a plain-marked version with your label on the box is often the sensible route. The legal side of names and marks stays with you: the desk applies the marking you supply and does not check trademark rights. Details are in OEM and private label and packaging and anti-rust.

Building the first list

New distributors often ask for a recommended starting range. The desk does not push a fixed catalogue; it asks about your customers instead. A workshop-oriented shop needs sealed deep groove sizes and kits, an agricultural dealer needs pillow block units and inserts, and an industrial supplier needs needle roller and cylindrical types. Once the first container is sold through, the second list is built from real turnover, and the desk adjusts quantities and suffixes accordingly.

Quality for resale

A distributor needs consistent product more than exceptional product, because returns cost more than margin. The inspection plan for each lot normally covers dimensions, radial clearance, hand rotation, seal fit and appearance, plus rust protection and packing against the approved sample. Reports accompany each lot. Where complaints arrive from the field, the lot record makes it possible to trace which plant and batch supplied the item, and the desk follows up with the plant in writing.

Questions buyers ask

Can I order many different designations in small quantities?

Yes, to the extent the plants allow. The desk groups designations by plant and consolidates them in one shipment. Typical minimums are 100-500 pieces per standard designation, confirmed in writing for each program.

Which sizes should a new distributor stock first?

Most start with the 6200 and 6300 series in ZZ and 2RS, 608 miniature bearings and UC inserts with common housings. Your own sales history should decide the final list. Check dimensions in the size chart.

What does private label packing cost in minimum quantity?

Private label marking and printed boxes typically start around 1,000-5,000 pieces per designation, confirmed in writing. For smaller quantities, plain marking with your label on the box is a common alternative.

Can you ship mixed pallets from several plants?

Yes. The desk collects goods from several partner plants at one point, packs them with a packing list organised by designation and ships together. Timing depends on the slowest plant in the mix and is confirmed up front.

How are slow-moving items handled?

They are ordered in the smallest quantity a plant will pack, often with a fast-moving order, so you carry range without a large stock of any single slow item. The quantity is agreed per designation.

Send the designations or d x D x B sizes you need, the quantity per item and your market. The desk replies in writing with matched options, inspection points and the reference MOQ.
